Seven values we live by every day

At American Enterprise Group, Inc., we don’t just put our values up on posters around the office and go about our business. We live them:

American Enterprise also shows that we value community involvement by making corporate donations to the United Way and supporting other local charitable and cultural causes.


Integrity

That means doing what you say you’ll do, when you say you’ll do it. It also means shooting straight with people, even walking away from any profit that requires compromising our ethical values.

We consider our customers’ opinions to be the best measure of our integrity. And in 2006, both American Republic Insurance Company and World Insurance Company earned an “A” satisfaction rating from policyholders and agents.

Customer-focused and market-driven

The first law of business: listen to your customers and serve their needs by responding to market demands. That’s the “business case” for putting customers first. To give our customers an easier way to budget health insurance, we introduced rate guarantees that lock in rates for up to three years.

When each team member brings their unique talents together behind a common cause, you increase the chances of achieving success. Each employee takes ownership of their responsibilities, but understands they can’t do it on their own. We share information with each other because it generates the best ideas … which turn into actions … that deliver results our customers expect.

Results

Our success is reflected in our financial rating, a barometer of company stability we take very seriously. Both American Republic Insurance Company and World Insurance Company have earned A- (Excellent) ratings for financial security from industry analyst A.M. Best Company (January 2007).

A.M. Best Company is an independent non-government company that rates insurance companies. And our A- (Excellent) rating is the fourth highest out of 15 possible ratings.

Continuous improvement

Whether it’s a bit here and there, or a radical leap forward, American Enterprise enthusiastically embraces the American tradition of continually improving.

We constantly look for ways to improve ourselves. One of our main goals is to be easier to do business with. For example, our insurance applications were lengthy and daunting, so we shortened the forms to make them quicker -- and easier -- to fill out.
